your body is your home - tend to it with caring touch

a space to be held in presence

Alyssa Schimmel is a PA-state licensed massage therapist who integrates her 12+ years of dedicated study of herbal therapeutics, anatomy & physiology, meditation and intuition to her work with clients at the table. She is a 2020 graduate of the 600-hour Academy of Massage Therapy and Bodyworks training in Pottstown, PA and is specialized in providing integrative therapeutic massage. She is a current student of the Trager Association and Cranio-Sacral Therapy Alliance.

Years ago, massage therapy and cranial sacral therapy provided her an avenue for releasing years of accumulated physical & spiritual tension. The release and realizations she experienced made such an impact that she now continues her extensive training in many modalities to offer inspired sessions for her clients.

Sessions include tailored therapeutic work and take-home exercises for her clients that centers their own wisdom and self-referencing in their bodies. With an approachable personality and a dedication to providing optimal experience for her clients, Alyssa has been honored to witness stunning transformations in her clients’ lives and bodies. Clients report increased mobility, lessened pain, improved quality of life, vitality, and the ability to find resilience within.

She offers in-person sessions Tuesdays in Havertown, PA at Main Line Therapeutic Wellness, Wednesdays/Fridays in Phoenixville, PA at Hummingbird Healing Collective, and Wednesdays/Sundays in Malvern, PA at High Vibe Massage & Bodywork. In-home sessions are available throughout the week by appointment.

Offerings

  • Known for its long, sweeping strokes, Swedish massage improves circulation and elicits whole-body rest. Can include kneading, tapping, vibration, and friction to enhance muscular unwinding and repair. Light to medium pressure.

Swedish Massage

  • A light-touch modality with ‘holds’ along different facets of the cranium, sacrum, spine, and moveable paired joints to improve the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid - the luscious lymphatic bathwater cushioning the brain and nervous system. Helps the body release and reorganize into balance and ease. A deeply relaxing modality that is renowned for somatic experiencing and personal insight.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

  • Combines slow and sustained pressure with hands, fists, and forearms, assisted stretching, and range of motion exercises to release tension at the deepest levels of muscle and fascia. Improves mobility and flexibility, supports postural alignment, muscular repair, and injury rehabilitation. Medium to deep pressure.

Therapeutic Deep Tissue

  • A gentle form of Japanese energy healing that combines hands-on and hands-off positions to clear stagnant energy in the body, mind, and spirit at the site of old physical injuries, depletion or inflammation, and emotional pain or blocks. Reiki recognizes many layers within the body’s electromagnetic field and addresses it through a directed flow of intention and presence. Clients often feel deeply nourished, warmed, cleared, and re-energized. Session can include by-request sharing of intuitive insights received during the session. Option for in-person or distance reiki. A favorite for those ritualizing new life chapters and complementary therapy for those undergoing extensive medical treatment.

Reiki Energy Work

  • A movement modality that incorporates self-care exercises called Mentastics (‘mental gymnastic’ prompts for movement exploration) with fully-clothed table-work to access the freedom and fluidity of the body in motion. Uses rocking, shaking, jostling, and lengthening techniques to deeply relax the central nervous system, allowing for the unwinding of holding patterns to create lasting neuromuscular change. An oceanic gift to the mind and emotions - as much as to the body! 75-90 minute session.

InnerOcean: Trager Approach

  • Massage tools to enliven the senses.

  • Heated volcanic basalt stones glided across the surface of the body assist in melting tense muscles.

  • Curved jade stone tools used to ‘scrape’ muscles using cross friction to untangle even the most minute of muscular knots. Brings a rush of blood to the area - facilitating detoxification & repair.

  • Plastic cups are applied to the body with a suction to draw blood flow to the area. Accelerates the body’s healing process, detoxifying the tissue, easing stiffness, and improving flexibility of joints, muscle, and connective tissue.

  • Organic aromatic oils applied to the body or via steam for their calming, uplifting, and grounding effects. Many of my blends are sustainably sourced and home-crafted.
